No Queen

    Nyah NyahI have divided a hive to make a new nucleus & after 2 weeks there is no queen – any ideas quickly?

    Hi Bev, can you give us some more info?

    I take it you have been in the hive again since the transfer, so are the queen cells still present on the transferred frames?

    If the queens cells are gone then Im not sure why there isnt a queen. Perhaps you missed it? They are quite difficult to spot although you will be able to see the new brood.

    Plus Im not sure if the workers would stay around unless there were queens cells or a queen.

    If for some strange reason there really is no queen, you will have to requeen from another hive, either the one you have or perhaps phoning the local beekeepers association could prove useful in finding a donar!

    Plus it normally takes around 16 days for new queens to hatch…give it time I think it will happen or already has.Dude
